Scotland's Katie McGill Joins Team Swannack

We are excited to announce a partnership between Swannack and Cricket Scotland’sKatie McGill.

McGill – a former ‘Lady Lama’ with Reigate Priory Cricket Club, one of Swannack’s club partners, in Surrey – says, “I am really excited to be joining the Swannack team. It’s great to find a company so connected to their heritage, and it’s an added bonus that I started my cricket journey in the same area as Swannack and the Surridge family.”

The 25-year old’s connection with Scotland began when she studied at Edinburgh University, achieving a masters in Engineering. McGill – who has played a season in New Zealand domestic cricket – featured in the 2015 World T20 and 2017 World Cup Qualifiers for Scotland.

“Having received my first bat from Swannack, a Kratos,” McGill continues, “I can’t wait to walk out to the middle for Scotland with it. Holding and wearing kit you really believe in and get great support from adds to the pride you get in representative cricket.

Speaking of the partnership, Swananck director Charley Surridge, says, “we are extremely excited about Katie joining our player family. We at Swannack are passionate about supporting women’s cricket and feel that Katie is a fantastic Swannack brand representative.”“Here’s hoping some of the Kratos’ class rubs off on me and bring on the fun of another season!”

McGill will be in action for Scotland next season in the ICC Women’s World T20 event in the West Indies, having successfully defeated the Netherlands by 7 wickets and USA women by 9 wickets to qualify for the event.
